It’s been more than two months since the devasting mud and debris slide that inundated our property and closed us down. Offers of assistance continue to pour in, and we are so grateful. A number of benefits are being held in our honor. If you can attend, it’s a great way to reconnect with La Casa’s spirit and support us financially while you’re there.
This Sunday, March 18 at the Parish Hall at the Unitarian Society at 1525 State Street poets Enid Osborn, Paul Willis, David Starkey, Chryss Yost, Sojourner Kincaid Rolle, Perie Longo, Laure-Anne Bosselaar, Gudrun Bortman, Lois Brown Klein, John Ridland, Christopher Buckley & Nancy Lee will read in honor of La Casa. Bob Sedivy will play Japanese flute. The event is at 3pm – bring friends!
On Wednesday, April 18th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm BodhiPath Buddhist Center of Santa Santa Barbara Center will hold a community event at 102 W. Mission Street.
“AWAKENING Acknowledging and embracing the growing role of awakened community has been an important lesson for everyone here in Santa Barbara during the recent fires and mudslides. This evening is dedicated to sharing physical and spiritual nourishment and celebrating the role of community as part of the path of awakening. By realizing the power of support of community, we can discover, give and receive the love and compassion we need to overcome our challenges with grace and courage.”
All donation proceeds to benefit La Casa de Maria Retreat and Conference Center. an evening potluck, teaching and celebration to support the restoration of La Casa de Maria Retreat and Conference Center.
Also in April, the Spiritual Paths Foundation will offer an online course, the proceeds of which will support La Casa.
