Take better care of yourself in the New Year by exercising your creativity through writing. Research has shown that writing from your heart without judgment enhances the immune system, lowers stress, provides insight, and increases happiness. Through a series of exercises and a willingness to play, you will discover new ways to connect to yourself and others. No writing experience necessary.

Perie Longo, PhD, MFT and Registered Poetry Therapist, has facilitated writing workshops for over 20 years. She is poetry chair of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, and former Poet Laureate of Santa Barbara.
