Uncover the essence of wabi-sabi, Japanese aesthetics, as we honor the beauty of imperfection, impermanence, and the passing of time. Come on a painted scavenger hunt for wabi-sabi and an artful pilgrimage to several shrines. Create a handmade shrine book, Japanese marbling (Suminagashi) and beautiful papers to use in collage and bookmaking, shibori art (scarves, fabrics, clothing, and papers) dipped into an indigo vat, and ikebana floral arrangements for our Way of Tea Celebration.

This program is three days. Each day will run from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm with lunch included.

All materials are supplied.

Joni Chancer has facilitated art workshops nationally and internationally for over 20 years, inviting participants to discover, render, and celebrate the inspirational beauty of the natural world.
