Inspired by the natural beauty of La Casa’s landscape, you’ll sketch and then paint the “sky windows” that appear within foliage. As you create an acrylic painting, you’ll explore positive and negative shapes, color variations, and bold graphic design. Possible subjects include a cluster of leaves on a tree branch, wild grasses, or spikes of flowers against a vivid sky or other natural backgrounds. The facilitators will demonstrate the powerful effect of underpainting, which will add to the success of your final piece(s). You’ll warm up by sketching en plein air, and then work on your painting(s) in the sunny Casa Teresita studio space. No previous art experience is required, as facilitators will provide options for both beginning and advanced techniques.  All supplies included.

Joni Chancer and Gina Rester-Zodrow have facilitated art workshops nationally and internationally for over 20 years, inviting participants to discover, render, and celebrate the inspirational beauty of the natural world.
