9:30 am - 1:00 pm
Centering Prayer is a contemplative form of prayer that opens your heart in order to hear the voice of the Divine within. This sacred practice awakens your intimate relationship with the Divine and empowers a process of transformation. It is drawn from ancient Christian contemplative prayer practices.
These retreat days offer an opportunity for communal prayer practice. A brief introduction to Centering Prayer will be offered to beginners. The retreat will provide time for communal centering prayer, a meditation walk, time for private journaling and reflection. We will gather from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and begin our practice at 10:00 am. The retreat will conclude at 1:00 pm.
Facilitation of these retreats will be shared between Sr. Suzanne Dunn and Annette Colbert, Co-Chairs of Contemplative Outreach, Ventura/Santa Barbara Chapter.
A donation is requested.
Future dates for Centering Prayer practice days are: February 7 and March 7. You are invited to come to a single session or several.
Please note that there are two ongoing weekly Centering Prayer meditations on Mondays, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm and Tuesdays, from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Please join us.
